June/July 2012 (Texas trip)

The entire month of June was spent in Texas!  Dru decided to use up all of his leave plus some and go to Texas for the summer to finish up his classes to get his bachelor's degree.  We're all so proud of him.  He claims he is smarter than me now, though.  Haha.  We did so much while we were there.  We spent an entire day at a water park.  The kids all had so much fun and were so good. I got to help Meagan throw Hazel's first birthday part.  I taught her how to decorate a cake using fondant and the cake turned out really cute.  I took some pictures of sweet little Hazel and the entire Budge family.
The girls and I were actually in Texas for much of July, too, so I am just going to mention everything we did there whether it was June or July.  I can't remember exactly when we did everything.  We went to a really fun bounce house place, the Fort Worth Zoo, Medieval Times, the Rainforest Cafe (which was kind of disappointing), the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens and also rode the little train outside of the zoo.  We also got to see Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinacas in person!  That was really cool because we were all on the news, but kind of lame because the media took ALL of their time so no autographs or pictures.
Along with all the fun stuff we did, it was just nice to be able to spend so much time with all the people we love so much.

Playing outside after church one day.  William went outside in his underwear so, of course, Mina had to strip down to be like him.

I think Mina was crying because we took the bubble gun away from her.  The kids all loved all the bubbles.  They had so much fun with the bubble gun, but Mina and William called it a bubble gum.  Hehe.

The went outside to play in the little pool several times.

We caught Mina outside by herself at one point and discovered she'd been sneaking out through the doggy door.  Silly girl.

We went to the mall so the bigger kids could bounce on this awesome contraption.  They had a blast.  We eventually went back so Dalia could try it, but we don't have any pictures.  I do have a video on my phone, though.

We like going to the malls and letting the kids play in the little kids area.  This trip, though, Mina ran to me screaming and crying and we discovered that a kid had bitten her when she went under one of the tunnels.  I was furious, but there were so many kids there was no way of finding out who did it.  Her skin instantly turned purple and it was complete with teeth marks.  It happened through her pants, too.

I think I had just made some cinnamon rolls and decided to take a break with Dru.

One day we hit the Rainforest Cafe, in which the power went out in the middle of our visit, before we had even received our food.  So, we had to eat cold food in the dark and then were expected to still pay full price.  I thought the food was so overpriced because of the setting.  We couldn't even enjoy the environment because there was no light, no action, nothing.  Lame.  But, the bounce house was a blast, as always.
