Easter egg hunt

After breakfast we gave the girls baths and got them dressed in their new dresses.  I sent Dru outside to hide all of the Easter eggs and the girls and I made our way down there a few minutes later.  Mina could not wait to get started and was all over the place finding eggs.  We had to coach Dalia a bit as this was the first egg hunt she's really been able to participate in.  She loved it, though.  I wanted to get one decent picture with the 2 of them smiling, but Mina claimed the sun was too bright and squinted in every picture and Dalia was too focused on the candy.  Oh well.

Resurrection Rolls

Last year we learned of something called Resurrection Rolls.  We thought it was the best idea and decided to make it an Easter tradition.  They involve reading about the death and resurrection of Christ and making rolls an an object lesson.  You dip a marshmallow in melted butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar.  You then wrap a piece of dough tightly around that.  When you bake them the marshmallow (Christ) disappears and leaves an empty tomb.  It's a wonderful object lesson and a delicious breakfast.  Mina understood it so much better this year and I know she'll look forward to it for years to come.  Dalia really enjoyed eating them and I'm sure she'll catch on next year.  It's nice to have something to really keep the reason of the holiday in our home.

T-Ball

Mina had her first T-ball practice.  I have been looking forward to this day for a long time.  I loved playing softball growing up and I hope my kids like it as much as I did.  I will be just a tad upset if they don't.  I think Mina has some natural talent in there, but that could just be wishful thinking.  She does enjoy and she does do fairly well... when she's not being goofy.  Mina is such her daddy's daughter.  I can already tell she is going to be a class clown.  I had a lot of fun watching her learn and practicing with her.

Carmel Beach with the Pfeifers

Out of all the time we've lived here we've never been to beaches in Carmel.  The Pfeifers invited us to go one day and we went.  And it was beautiful.  It was a lot more crowded than the regular beaches we go to, but the water was calmer and you could walk out a lot farther.  It was still very chilly, but, once again, we enjoyed out time at the beach.  A lot of our time in March was spent with the Pfeifers.  They just moved here and were staying in a hotel.  They ended up staying with us for a few days, too.  It is so fun to have good friends to hang out with again.
