June- Grandma Jorgensen's Visit, Father's Day and Other Cute Stuff

When Dru's mom came to visit after Dalia was born we were able to go to Mount Vernon.  What a pretty place.  Mina was so excited to see "George's house."  Haha.  She kept referring it to that all day.  It was a fun day and Mina loved the miniature doll house version of the house.  Dalia pretty much slept all day.

Mina brushing her teeth at a random moment during the day.

Mina putting on ALL of Grandma's jewelry.

Showing some sisterly love.

We went bowling with the scouts.  Mina was so good and patiently waited for her turn each time.  Dalia slept the entire time.

Our cute girls.

One day I walked into the kitchen and found this.  They were just sitting on the counters having a snack.  It was so cute.

These are pictures from Father's day.  The girls and I made him a card and a mug that was full of chocolate.  Then I tried to get some pictures of the girls and him.

Mina busted her lip pretty badly.  She has a scar now, too.  It's kind of funny, though, because I have pretty much the same scar, but on the opposite side of my lip.  We're twins!

Sisters?

I kept looking at this picture of Dalia thinking it was an old picture of Mina. So, I found that old picture of Mina so I could compare them. They sure do look like sisters, don't they?

Dalia

Minutes old.

5 days old.

1 month old.

2 months old.

2 months and 1 day old.

Dalia is SUCH A GOOD BABY! Pretty much from day 1 she has been a good sleeper. Last week we decided to give sleep training a try. Now, I know I just said she was a good sleeper from day one. The only thing was that she had to be completely conked out before we could lay her down, otherwise we had to hold her or have her in the bed with us. That was fine with me because I was still getting sleep. I wanted her to start sleeping in her own bed, though and to be able to lay down without being in a deep sleep already. So, after making sure she was fed, burped and dry and half asleep, we laid her in her bassinet. It took about 45 minutes of crying on and off and me going in a couple of times to help soothe her before she fell asleep the first night. She slept for between 4 and 5 hours before waking up to eat. She then went back to sleep for another few hours in her bed on her own. The next night took less than a half hour and the night after she didn't cry at all. Now we can lay her down whether she's completely out or on her way and she sleeps for 6 hours before waking up to eat at night. Then, she sleeps for another 3 hours and then I just put her in bed with me for another couple of hours and wait for Mina to wake up. Mina went through a little phase of waking up around 6 for a couple of weeks. It was annoying, but luckily Dru was really helpful with that. We found out she was cutting 2 of her 2 year molars and now that they've cut through, she is back to sleeping in until between 9 and 10.
Dalia smiled for the first time at me while awake at 2 weeks old. It melted my heart. From that day on she has smiled more and more each day. Now, she sits and stares at me while she nurses and waits for me to look at her. As soon as I do, she stops what she is doing and just smiles. It's adorable. She rolled over right at 2 months old from her tummy to her back. She has come close to doing it several more times. She loves going places and riding in her carrier with me. Normally she just falls asleep in it, but lately she has become so much more interested in the world around her and just looks around for as long as she can until she falls asleep.
We love Dalia so much. It's amazing that you can love yet another little person just as much as you loved the first. Our little family is just as happy as can be.
