Sweet Girls

At the end of the month Dru took off to California.  I stayed back with the girls so that Mina could finish up soccer and participate in joy school with her friends for a little longer.  Dalia and Mina miss him so much already, but they really enjoy talking to him on the phone and skyping with him.  Dalia will put the phone between her ear and shoulder and just walk around the house chatting away to him.  It's ridiculously cute.  And I know Dru misses them so much.

We had a little photo shoot with some friends and it proved, once again, to be very tough to get a good group shot of a bunch of kids.

First Day of School, Sleepover and Air Force Ball

Mina also started school at the beginning of the month.  Me, along with five other moms decided to do a cooperative joy school with our kids.  Mina LOVES it and I love seeing her be such a big girl and learning.  Mina had her first soccer game, also.  She did so well.  Another first was Mina having a sleepover.  Teresa came to spend the night with us.  They had so much fun and surprisingly, Teresa made it the whole night.

We had so much fun.  We had popcorn while watching a princess movie, ice cream while watching another princess movie and we had chocolate donuts for breakfast.  Donuts were the bribery to get them to stay in bed.  Teresa woke up a few times and ended up sleeping in Mina's room by herself.  Mina ended up sleeping in Dalia's crib and Dalia ended up sleeping in her pack and play in the closet.  When the older girls woke up the next morning I brought them both to the big bed to watch a movie on the iPad while we waited for Dalia to wake up.

These girls are just too cute and silly.

Dru and I got to go to the Air Force Ball where he participated in singing the National Anthem.  He's such a stud.  This was probably my favorite of the balls I've been to and the only one where I didn't know anyone other than Dru.  It was decorated very nicely, the food was good and there was live music.  It was an Air Force group of string instruments and they spread out all across the room to play.  They even played a Michael Jackson song along with other popular well known songs.  It was wonderful.

New York and Renn Fest

Dru was able to get into an Intermediate Chinese course back at D.L.I. in Monterey.  We are super excited to be going back there, but super sad to be leaving all of our amazing friends here.  We've been spending a lot of time with friends and even took a trip with the Pfeifers back up to Hoboken for some more Carlo's Bakery and then actually went into New York City.  We took a ferry into the city and got to see the Statue of Liberty a little more close-up than last time.  We took a quick stroll through Central Park and then walked down 5th Avenue all the way to Times Square where Mina had an awkward moment with a chipmunk.  Wow, it was so busy.  It was a weeknight, too.  There were so many people and things going on every inch of that place.

We also got to go to the Renaissance Festival with the Pfeifers, minus Nick.  It was really muggy and actually started raining as soon as we were finished.  The kids got to ride the ponies, go down the giant slide and eat some yummy treats.  Dru volunteered during a hypnosis show and it was hilarious.
