Houston trip- The beach

The Jorgensens.

We ventured down to Houston on Dru's birthday, April 16, to spend the week with Mike and Alayne. Meagan, Stephane and William came with us for that first weekend and we were able to go to the beach! Although it had been raining that morning and it was overcast and windy most of the time we were at the beach, we had a great time and even got a little sunburned. We have taken Mina to the beach a few times while we lived in California, but this was the first time she actually got to play and enjoy it. The very first moment we sat her in the sand, she immediately dived in and started having the time of her life. She loved rubbing her hands in the sand and even flopped down on her belly to enjoy it. William did a lot better in the sand than he did with the rocks at the park. Haha. Both babies decided to try eating the sand at some point just like all babies do.

Mina's very first experience in the sand.

William being extremely cute at the beach.

The cutest babies in the world.

Sand is so interesting.

William agrees.

Mina tried to swim in it.

Hmmm... let's see how this stuff tastes.

She tried spitting it out, but kept putting more in.

The water was a tad cold (nowhere near as cold as the water in Monterey) and it was windy. Mina was pretty hesitant at first in the water, but when Dru started burying her in the sand she started to enjoy it more. When the babies started to get a little tired we all took turns watching them so we could go play in the waves. Meagan, Alayne and I had a blast getting blasted by waves. Meagan just about lost her skirt and Alayne practically lost her bathing suit bottoms. We laughed so hard out there. Mike flew a spectacular kite while Dru decided to feed the seagulls. After about 4 hours at the beach we went back home and played some pictionary. It was a fun day!

She loved to be buried in the sand. Maybe it kept her warm.

Cute little hands and feet.
